Still Life

8th grade is wrapping up a unit in charcoal still life drawing.  Students began by studying three dimentional shapes and mastering how to sketch them.  Students then arranged a still life to sketch.  The sketch was given value using charcoal.  Charcoal can be a tricky and messy material.  I have never used charcoal with my students before this lesson and I was very proud of their work, and so were they.
