Huichol Bottles
8th grade is working on their unit on Mexican Art. For their first project they studied the Huichol people. The Huichol are famous for their yarn paintings, using nothing but fine thread pressed in wax they create an intricate image. Inspired by this technique, 8th grade used yarn to decorate wine bottles. For a good result students needed a lot of patience which was a real challenge for some. However if they were patient, their craftsmanship was excellent. Take a look at our inspiration and our interpretations.
