Analyzing Art!

Sometimes it can be a challenge to have students really LOOK at art.  By look I mean study and unlock the story within a picture.  In honor of thanksgiving 2nd and 3rd grade students had to analyze
Thanksgiving by Dorris Lee.

 There is so much going on in the painting and I was blown away by how many details the students observed.  Each class examined and discussed the painting for no less than 30 minutes.  After our analysis students had the task of drawing Thanksgiving in their own house, here are the adorable sketches.
