Surrealism

4th grade has been studying surrealist artist Rene Magritte.  The first image we examined was The False Mirror

Students had to then create their own surreal eye, here are some works in progress

Next students examined The Listening Room

In this painting we are faced with a dilemma- are we seeing a giant apple in a regular sized room or is it a normal apple in a doll house?  Students took on this challenge of proportion in recreating their own Listening Rooms
