Ancient Egyptian plaster tiles

6th grade made these tiles as part of our Ancient Egypt unit.  Students carved their drawings into their Styrofoam mold and then filled them with plaster.  Once unmolded their design was raised in the plaster and students used a glossy paint to complete the tiles.  This was the first time I taught this lesson and it was a huge success, a bit messy but the kids loved it!
